Providence Hall took 7 students to the National Speech and Debate national tournament in Phoenix, Arizona. They were: McKenzie Capito, Isabella Erwin, Maddie Weber, Luis Baez, Tristan Taylor, Scarlet Blocker, and Nivi Karthikeyan. 5 of our students made it past preliminary rounds in supplemental events. Scarlet made it to quarter finals in spoken word poetry, Luis Baez went to octos in extemp commentary, and McKenzie went 7-2 in extemp debate. This was the strongest showing that Providence Hall has ever had. They had more students break in the supplemental rounds than any other school in our district! We look forward to reloading next year and building on our success.
