What's That Smell?

Good Morning Patriot Families,

Yesterday was a perfect storm of delightful smells. It takes me back to the good ol’e days when two of my sons were playing football at the same time and would conveniently forget to remove their gear from the back of the car during summer practice season.

It was indeed, for lack of a better word, gross but not at all dangerous.

I have been told there have been several comments on the parent’s page, so I wanted to take a moment to put your worries to rest as it is pumpkin spice season, and I hear that is also big news right now as well.

Here is the tea on the smell yesterday…The pea-traps (or however you spell it) in the pipes had dried out over the weekend, and the scissor lift was having an electrical issue, which made for a not-great smell by the front office. It was not in or near any classrooms or cafeteria, and the problem was dealt with at the first of the day, it just took a hot minute for the smell to dissipate as it had been lingering all weekend.

There was no leak or anything hazardous to students or staff, and no students were sent home sick because of it, to my knowledge, although if kids are sensitive to smells, they may have chosen to go home because it was overwhelming for them. We have had a couple of bugs going around, so students have gone home sick, but it wasn't because of the smell. If there had been anything hazardous or dangerous, we would have notified parents. :)

Thank you, as always, for being amazing! ❤️
