Junior High Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to Providence Hall Junior High,

When you step inside the doors of Providence Hall Junior High, our mission is to instill students with an intrinsic motivation to develop the required skills that lead to high levels of academic achievement, as well as having the feeling that they have found a place that makes them feel safe, secure, and most importantly loved. As an accredited International Baccalaureate school, our Middle Years Programme is designed to encourage students to actively engage in inquiry-based learning which promotes a school culture where students are encouraged to welcome the challenge of increased academic rigor, creativity, and practical problem solving skills both in the school setting, as well as in everyday life.

Providence Hall Junior High is also one of the few middle schools in the valley that offers a wide array of extra curricular classes, including but not limited to: Robotics, Performing Arts, Spanish, STEM, and many more. We are also unique in the fact that we offer the opportunity for students to participate in competitive sporting programs like volleyball, soccer, cross-country, and basketball, just to name a few. In addition to the extracurricular classes and activities, we also offer accelerated courses in Math as well as Honors courses for Language Arts, History, and Science.

As a Providence Hall Patriot, students can expect to feel like they are part of a family, and with the opportunity to continue on to Providence Hall High School, students will be able to establish roots within a community that will carry them all the way through the end of their secondary schooling career. Here at Providence Hall, we believe in using positive behavioral intervention supports (a.k.a. PBIS) to encourage students to engage in behaviors that help promote not only academic engagement, but also fosters a climate of kindness, responsibility, and respect in daily interactions with each other. Our PBIS program is all online and allows both students AND parents to have access to how many points their child has earned as well as the reasons they are earning them. Each Friday, students are invited to trade in points at our Patriot Store for items they have requested. Student favorites include: dress down day bands, custom water bottles, and other Providence Hall swag.

All of our teachers at PHJH are highly certified and trained in IB pedagogy and the most effective teaching practices. We have one full time counselor as well as one part time school social worker on staff. We have a fully staffed Special Education department, as well as a Dean of Students and a Dean of Academics. Together we work closely with our students to accomplish success schoolwide. Our mission at Providence Hall is to help students Think Critically, Communicate Effectively, and Act Responsibly. We accomplish this by staying small enough to provide individualized instruction and support, while being large enough to offer a wide variety of courses and extra-curricular opportunities for all of our students.

We sincerely look forward to meeting you, and we cannot wait to welcome you to the Providence Hall Junior High family! Schedule a tour today, or if you would like a more in-depth experience, your student can also make an appointment to come and join classes for the day to get an authentic experience of all our incredible school has to offer.
