Providence Hall has been awarded the FY27 APEX Implementation Grant, a highly competitive $4,954,000 statewide grant funding two new regional Centers of Excellence. As lead applicant and fiscal agent for a nine-school charter consortium, Providence Hall will build and operate a new Health Sciences and Veterinary Science Center (about 3,700 sq. ft.) right here on campus. We will work in partnership with SLCC, Intermountain Health, and other key local organizations through internships, hands-on learning, and certification partnerships. Additionally, the school will add an Animal Science Center for FFA opportunities to rear and raise animals here at Providence Hall. Additionally, partner school AAI operates a companion Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, and Hospitality Center. Here, students from Providence Hall can take courses in machining, welding, manufacturing, and engineering, as well as hospitality and culinary arts.

This will be a great addition to our school community $4.95M TOTAL GRANT AWARD Program Offerings Opportunities Health Sciences, Vet Science, Animal Science, Manufacturing, Engineering, Machining, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Pre-Nursing, CNA, Med Tech, Vet Tech, Physical Therapy, EMT, Medical Training, Animal Science, Culinary Arts, Machining, Welding, manufacturing, engineering, Hospitality Health Science students will train in patient care, anatomy, emergency response, and rehabilitation; our new Veterinary Science and Animal Science pathway adds a campus animal-rearing space and student participation in FFA; and shared access to AAI's center opens the door to manufacturing, welding, CAD/CAM, robotics, and culinary arts.

These pathways were chosen to match documented regional workforce shortages, including registered nurses and veterinary technologists, and lead to industry certifications, internships, and CTSO leadership through HOSA, SkillsUSA, and FFA. Design work begins this year, construction runs through 2026–27, and our first student cohort is planned to begin in 2027–28 school year.
